My Learning Aid - Swing Setter by David Leadbetter

I brought this aid from eBay US at around HK$1000 including postage; while I learnt that the HK price is around $1200-1300. Hoped I got the market info correct and the hassles ordering from overseas worth the while.

It gave an odd feeling in the beginning of using it. Because you have to hang the club in the air, instead of toughing the head on groud like a normal club. Subsequently your hand are unsteady without an hinging point. It took me a while to get use to it...

It was frustating when the magnetic balls were NOT releasing correctly in my first few days of using. I was not sure if it was my bad swings, or I didn't use the aid correctly. So I read the entire manual back and forth for many times, as well as the tiny teaching DVD included in the package. Then I found out it was my bad swing... I was sad, then I told myself "hey the aid really works in telling your bad swing, a smart-buy confirmed...: and I felt better : )

Having used it for a few months (practing only 30 minutes per week on average), my friends told me my swings got better, whom I didn't tell them the secret aid used.

Just last week I watched the Golf Select channel of NOW TV, and found Michael Campbell the world champion is also using it as part of his routine training with coach Jonathan Yarwood. Oh my Goosh.... Campbell has been a tour player for a decade and he is using the same tool as I do... it is a bit of a shock....

Summarily speaking, it is a good tool, go for it.

How It Works

Grip -
"Great golf begins with a great grip." The patented Form Molded Grip (made by Golf Pride) on the SwingSetter™ guarantees a perfect grip every time.

Swing Plane -
The Plane Pointer and the EZSee Clubface allow the golfer to easily see proper face position and maintain a consistent swing plane throughout the swing.

Release -
The SwingSetter™'s Adjustable Magnetic Balls (settings vary depending on strength and swing speed) promote a correct setting of the wrists on the backswing - setting the stage for an accelerated release through impact. The key to "swinging easy and hitting hard."

Tempo -
Consistent Tempo Leads To Consistent Golf Shots. The best players in the world have wonderful tempo. You can achieve this as you rhythmically swing the SwingSetter™ - snapping the ball going back... then snapping it again at impact. The auditory feedback will give you perfect tempo every time when you swing your own club.
